Best Pokemon Cards to Grade in November 2026: Entry Limits

Charizard ex #223

Misty's Psyduck #193 makes November's conditional grading watchlist. Charizard ex #223 needs a cheaper entry: its larger PSA 10 spread comes with a larger PSA 9 loss and a higher grading tier.

This first monthly edition covers two exact English printings with original raw-listing photos and recent sold records checked on November 2, 2026. These are acquisition limits for independently inspected copies, not recommendations to buy any card labeled Near Mint. The reviewed raw sales have ended.

November shortlist: the price changes the decision

Exact English cardReviewed raw entry, deliveredConditional PSA 9 net resultConditional PSA 10 net resultMaximum delivered raw entry under our screenDecision
Misty's Psyduck 193/182, Destined Rivals$46.75−$57.45+$142.82$64.30Candidate only for a copy that passes independent condition screening
Charizard ex 223/197, Obsidian Flames$106.61−$99.76+$301.12$81.85Pass at the reviewed entry; reconsider only at a lower price and suitable condition

Both outcomes in each row include the raw purchase, the eligible grading service, the shipping and supplies allowances below, grading tax and modeled selling fees. They are conditional on receiving that grade and selling at the selected historical exit. They are not expected profits. We have not estimated your chance of receiving either grade.

Our acquisition screen permits at most a $75.00 loss in the selected PSA 9 scenario, while requiring at least $100.00 conditional PSA 10 profit. Those are editorial risk choices, not market facts. PSA 9 is not a floor: an 8, altered/authentic-only result, damage, return or weaker resale price can lose more. Use a stricter limit if that risk is unsuitable.

Misty's Psyduck: room in the entry, but the nine still loses

The card is the 2025 English Destined Rivals Illustration Rare, DRI EN 193/182, illustrated by OKACHEKE. It is not a Japanese card or a different numbered Psyduck.

The reviewed raw fixed-price sale was $42.50 plus $4.25 buyer shipping, or $46.75 delivered. Its original listing supplied both front and back photographs. We confirmed the printing and saw no obvious large crease, but those photographs cannot settle fine surface wear, corner defects or indentations. Seller-described NM does not establish a likely PSA 10. The listing was updated after the sale; the photos are what we observed on November 2, not an immutable record of their state when it sold.

For the sale scenarios, we used the lower delivered exit from each pair of reviewed graded copies: $57.99 for PSA 9 and $291.70 for PSA 10. The second PSA 10 example sold for more; we did not build the entry limit around that higher auction result.

PSA Value costs $39.99, with a $500.00 maximum insured value and an estimated 90–100 business days on the service page checked November 2. The selected PSA 10 item price fits that tier. Adding the other allowances brings cost before the selling fee to $106.74.

At the reviewed raw entry, the PSA 9 scenario returns $49.29 after the modeled selling fee and loses $57.45 overall. The PSA 10 scenario returns $249.56 after that fee and makes $142.82 conditionally. A larger gross slab price does not erase the failed-grade risk.

The entry ceiling is $64.30 delivered, under the stated costs and exits. At that ceiling the PSA 9 loss reaches our chosen limit. It is an upper bound for this screen, not a target to bid up to, and it does not turn an unsuitable copy into a grading candidate.

Charizard ex: the big ten does not justify this raw price

This is the 2023 English Obsidian Flames Special Illustration Rare, OBF EN 223/197, illustrated by Akira Egawa. Other Charizard variants are separate decisions.

The reviewed raw fixed-price sale was $100.00 plus $6.61 shipping, or $106.61 delivered. We checked the original front and back photographs and the English printing. Angled lighting and the dark background leave fine surface and edge assessment unresolved. No grade has been assigned from those photographs.

The selected PSA 10 sale was $565.00 plus $6.50 shipping. Its item value exceeds Value's limit, so this model uses PSA Standard at $59.99, with a $1,000.00 maximum insured value and an estimated 70–80 business days. Quoting the cheaper Value fee against this exit would overstate the economics.

The selected PSA 9 sale was $102.68 plus $1.00 shipping. After modeled selling fees it leaves $88.44. Once Standard and the other allowances are covered, only $6.85 remains before paying for raw. At the reviewed $106.61 raw entry, that is a $99.76 loss if the copy receives a nine and sells at this exit.

The PSA 10 scenario has $301.12 conditional profit, but we do not have supported personal grade odds to turn that upside into an expected return. Under the same risk screen used for Psyduck, the maximum delivered raw entry is $81.85. The decision at the reviewed price is pass. A cheaper copy still needs its own condition review and fresh exit checks.

The sold records behind the scenarios

All amounts are USD. Item and buyer-paid shipping are separated below. Product Research supplied the historical sold amounts; listing photos supplied identity and condition evidence. A listing's current displayed price or shipping can differ from its historical sold record. None of these ended sales is an available purchase quote.

Graded label images were checked for the exact English set, card number and PSA grade; each supporting graded sale is a distinct slab from its scenario anchor. We excluded redirected raw links that showed a different active PSA 8 offer, a CGC card appearing in PSA search results, and repeated Charizard certificate numbers across listing IDs.

This is a small, targeted sample: one raw and two graded sales at each grade per card. The lower reviewed exit is a modeling choice, not a market minimum or forecast. Bidding activity shows that particular auctions found buyers, but it does not establish how quickly your next slab will sell. We have not measured market-wide sales velocity, certified these cards as trending or calculated a representative median. Prices can move while cards are at PSA and while you wait for a buyer.

Costs, fees and the acquisition rule

Per-card allowanceMisty's PsyduckCharizard ex
Eligible PSA service$39.99$59.99

Return shipping allocation$5.00$5.00
Postage to the slab buyer$5.80$5.80
Supplies$1.00$1.00
Grading tax allowance$3.20$4.80
Other modeled charges$0.00$0.00
Other costs excluding PSA fee$20.00$21.60
Total including reviewed raw entry, before selling fee$106.74$188.20

The shipping allocations assume a combined submission. They are not standalone insured shipment quotes. Grading tax assumes 8%, rounded to cents. Raw purchase tax assumes 0% for a resale-exempt purchase; buyers without that exemption need a lower entry limit. No membership, advertising, labor or financing charge is included. Add any charges that apply to your operation.

Selling fees use eBay's US non-Store/Starter collectible-card rate: 13.25% plus $0.40 per order, with percentage fees applied to item price, buyer shipping and an assumed 8% buyer sales tax. That buyer tax is not observed in these sold records and is not seller revenue. Your Store plan, buyer location, international charges, promoted listings or tax on fees can change the result.

The modeled selling fees are $8.70 / $42.14 for Psyduck's PSA 9 / PSA 10 exits, and $15.24 / $82.18 for Charizard's. Net result equals item price plus buyer shipping, minus selling fee, raw delivered entry, raw purchase tax, grading and every other modeled cost. Costs are deducted once.

The maximum delivered raw entry is the smaller of:

  • PSA 9 proceeds after selling fees, minus grading and other costs, plus the chosen $75.00 loss budget.
  • PSA 10 proceeds after selling fees, minus grading and other costs, minus the chosen $100.00 conditional profit target.

Purchase tax must also fit inside that budget. A more expensive shipment, weaker exit or lower loss tolerance reduces the limit. No historical gem-rate percentage is substituted for your copy's grading probability.

What to research next

November's strongest reviewed candidate is Misty's Psyduck at an inspected, suitably low entry. Charizard stays on the price watchlist rather than the buy list at the observed raw price. Earlier discovery candidates Mewtwo VSTAR GG44 and Psyduck 226 remain unselected because original raw-copy condition evidence is incomplete.

Use Top Cards to discover other spreads, then open the exact printing's page and replace the reference inputs with your own delivered entry, eligible tier and costs before committing capital. Save a comparison if you want to revisit the decision as the market changes. The next monthly edition will preserve this dated analysis and explain which entries or exits changed; it will not silently roll November's prices into a new month.
